1. Purpose
This policy exists so that readers can judge our work by a published standard rather than by tone alone. It applies to every guide, category page and reference article on the website.
2. Independence
We do not accept payment from airlines, airports, booking platforms or travel providers in exchange for coverage, placement, ordering or favourable wording. No commercial party sees a guide before publication.
3. Source Hierarchy
Every factual claim is traced to the highest available source in the following order.
- Official government and border authority publications.
- Aviation regulators and international bodies.
- Airline published conditions of carriage and fare rules.
- Airport operator information.
- Documented, reproducible practitioner experience, clearly labelled as such.
4. Structure Standard
Every guide follows the same shape: the question, a quick answer, three practical solutions, and a summary. This is a deliberate constraint. It keeps guides short, comparable, and readable under time pressure.
5. Review Before Publication
A guide is written by one person and reviewed by a second before publication. The reviewer checks factual claims against sources, tests that the quick answer stands on its own, and confirms that no claim overstates certainty.
6. Updates
Guides carry a review date. Fast-moving topics such as document and entry requirements are reviewed more frequently than stable topics such as airport navigation. Any reader report of a rule change triggers an immediate review.
7. Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct it and say so. Substantive corrections are noted on the guide with the date and a short description. We do not silently rewrite a claim that a reader may have relied on.
8. Language and Certainty
We distinguish between what is required, what is usual and what is discretionary. Where an outcome depends on staff judgement, we say so rather than promising a result.
