What this is

An intelligent helpdesk, not a travel magazine

Air Support Desk exists because travel answers are scattered across fare rules, forums and call centre queues. We collect them, verify them, and publish them in one predictable format.

Air is everything related to flying. Support is practical help you can act on. Desk is one organized place where travelers quickly find answers.

Travelers use the Desk in two ways: calmly before a trip, to remove risk from a plan; and urgently during a trip, when something has already gone wrong. Both readers get the same thing, the answer first, the reasoning after.

We are independent. We do not sell flights, hold bookings, or earn a commission on your decision, which means a guide only has to be useful to you.

Every guide follows one structure

  1. 1

    Question

    One narrow, specific travel problem.

  2. 2

    Quick Answer

Enough to act on in about twenty seconds.

  3. 3

    Three Solutions

    Ordered from cheapest to fastest.

  4. 4

    Summary

What to remember when you close the page.

How we work

Editorially reviewed, independently researched

Every guide is written by a named editor, checked by a second reviewer, and re-read on a schedule.

  • Editorially reviewed

Every guide is checked by a second editor before it is published.

  • Independent research

Claims are traced to regulators, carriers and border authorities.

  • Regularly updated

Guides carry a review date and are re-checked on a fixed cycle.

  • Airline neutral

No carrier pays for coverage, placement, ordering or wording.

  • Practical guidance

Written to be usable while you are standing at a desk or a gate.

  • Worldwide coverage

Rules explained across Europe, North America, Asia and beyond.

Where our answers come from

We work from border authorities, aviation regulators, carrier conditions of carriage and airport operators, in that order. Rules change, so we say when a guide was last reviewed and always advise confirming time-critical details with the operating airline before you travel.
